May the light of Thy Love….

Ever since I wrote Life has no Meaning πŸ˜‡ I have been thinking more about life, its meaning and the ultimate purpose. And I have read some awesome posts on the subject from fellow bloggers πŸ‘

Yes, I still believe that life takes on any meaning we give it. Life simply is …

And yes, it is possible that for many of us the Meaning and the Purpose of life are same. That we have made a purpose out of what means most to us. Some of us do think deeply about all this and live meaningful lives with a purpose. But most of humanity is caught in a rat race and lives unfulfilled, meaningless life😌

There are so many things we can and we do to make our lives more meaningful: All the fine arts, charity, any kind of creativity, just being happy and cheerful and spreading that joy in others lives ….

So often I think even if we have great lives – Lots of money, family, friends and what not … one day we are going to pop off leaving all this behind. Was there any meaning to all this? Don’t get me wrong. I am not against money and possessions and all the good it can do. And it is so very beautiful to have good family life and great friends. And I am so blessed to have a very big and loving circle of family and friends and enough material comforts πŸ™

However awesome our lives might have been — one day we are going to leave it all behind. What was the meaning of all this? Was there any purpose behind all this?

All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances… Shakespeare- As You Like

It is so awesome to live with passion. To do what we love doing. To create love and joy and happiness. To some of us all this comes naturally- genes, karma – I don’t know. But all of us can do it if we ask more questions rather than get sucked into the rat race, into our environment.

If we go deeper into the question: Why am I here and what am I doing and why : we are sure to reach the meaning and the purpose of our lives.

Many saints and masters (including my Guru : Paramhansa Yogananda) tell us that the ultimate purpose of life is to know God, to love Him and realise our oneness with Him. I and my Father are one. This sounds true to me and I do feel this truth intuitively. But haven’t experienced it😌 On the other hand meditating regularly has brought so much peace in my life and has made me more loving, more accepting.

Guruji says : Finding God would mean funeral of all sorrow.

For me Life is meaningful only and only as long as I can be of some help to my fellow beings. I rarely say no to anything I can do for anyone. I call it a Window of Opportunity. Maybe it is giving money, advise, ideas, physical help or just offering a shoulder to cry on. This makes me happy. Maybe this life is simply an illusion. It is just a play. I still can’t see family and friends suffering.

And the second thing that gives meaning and purpose to my life, is this favourite prayer of Guruji : “Heavenly Father, Mother, Friend, Beloved God…..May the light of Thy love shine forever on the sanctuary of my devotion, and may I be able to awaken Thy love in all hearts. Aum Peace Amen”

I can’t imagine how can anyone live without the guidance, protection and love of God/Guru β€οΈπŸ™

  1. Yes, this is what I believe. The meaning of life is love. Love within. Love without. Meditation helps me find the love within, so I can spread it to those I meet. All the material goods in the world mean nothing if we have not loved and given to others — and shared the God-light that is within us. ❀

  2. Ashok I loved this post of yours, it was so beautiful and I totally agree with your words. Life is short and beautiful and one can never know when we have to move over and death itself is a celebration so take the name of God who is Universal. He is in all of us playing all these roles and he is always there with us no matter what, so keep on doing we you like be it creativity, doing selfless service and spreading joy and happiness to one and all. There is only ONENESS IN THE MANYNESS.

  3. Thank you so much for going through the post and sharing your thoughts. My heart goes out to you my friend.
Oh yes, everything in phenomenal world comes and goes .. nothing lasts … whole of life is cyclic… have lived through it …it is so very awesome to focus on being true and kind to yourself. God be with you in all that you do.

    Love and light

  5. As I have grown older, I value my faith, my family, and the simple moments in life. Now retired, my passion to teach has passed on to others, including two of my daughters. I feel happy and blessed. Thank you God!

  6. Line which I like the most & try to follow to some extent- There are so many things we can and we do to make our lives more meaningful: All the fine arts, charity, any kind of creativity, just being happy and cheerful and spreading that joy in others lives ….

  7. I’ve experience plenty lost already in my short life. I had to find who I am without the material comfort, friends and even family. Lost it all at one point, even lost my mind along the way πŸ™‚ but, I’m still here and grateful for the lessons learned from the experience. Focusing on being true and kind to myself, for in the end that’s all you truly have, yourself. People come and people go, same with material possessions, it can be given and it can taken away. I am grateful for small blessings like kind strangers and inner strength to handle life’s twist and turns.
