15th July was the death anniversary of Naseem. May her soul rest in peace. (Do read my last year’s post : Naseem is no More)
Naseem’s death looks like it was only yesterday. In fact it looks like she is still around. Her sweet smile is so real in my heart.
COVID has been around for a while and I have been at home for 4 months now. So much has happened and nothing has happened! Journey has all been within. And it has been some journey! This period has been God sent for me – I am more alive and am more aware than I ever was!
Why has COVID created so much fear? Is sickness and death something new? Don’t thousands of people die all over the world everyday even otherwise?
Naseem died so very young. My wife died young. A dear nephew of mine died young. My parents lived well into their 90s and they were together for 71 years! And this despite the trauma and heartburn of partition. A sister of mine has lived most of her married life in and out of hospitals and in a couple of years she would celebrate her 60th wedding anniversary- God willing 🙏
That is life and we know so little about it! Some die young and some die old. Some lead happy, healthy and joyous lives and some are born sick.
Many cultures, societies and even some religions believe that we have no control over life and death. The moment we are born the date and time and how we shall die is fixed. So why are we so afraid of Corona?
I believe only those are afraid to die who have never really lived. Those who truly live are never afraid of death. And only those who lack faith are the ones who fear death more. Death remains the only certainty in this uncertain world, but why die everyday!
Corona has saved thousands of deaths by road accidents alone in my city and my country due to lockdown. Must be so in other countries too. I believe the person whose time has come is going to go. The cause could be an accident, normal flu, any other disease or Corona.
We should and we must take common sense measures but not be afraid of Corona.
We should and must make lifestyle changes and build our immunity but not be afraid of death.
We must think about death and make friends with it rather than not understand it and be afraid of it.
Whole of life is cyclic. Nothing lasts. Life and death are two sides of the same coin. And it is only death that really gives meaning to life. If there was no death would life have any meaning at all! We should rather embrace life than be fearful of death.
Don’t take life so seriously my friend. It is just a dream😸
I eat when I am hungry. I drink when I am thirsty. I sleep when I am sleepy. And if heavens don’t fall I will surely live till I die 🤡

Thank you so much for this beautiful note Amy. Am with you.
This period has been God sent for me too. Just before the lockdown we had a monastic visit and I had the privilege of being with a senior and very evolved monk for 6 days. I learned a lot from him and this period has given me the time to be able to imbibe those learnings and integrate them in my day to day life.
God be with you through this personal time of hurt and understanding.
Love 🤗
Your thoughts mirror mine, Ashok. Have the majority of people truly been living or have they just been going through the motions? The actions of so many today show me that they have not been living and still afraid to do so today. You said it so well explaining how life and death are the normal here so why this intense fear over something that occurs here all the time? I believe it is all about the inner journey, just as you. And the journey has been intense that I can attest. I know not about you but the growth I have obtained in these past few months has been immense. It’s as though I’ve been put on “pause” in order to put to order ALL that remains to be sifted through and sorted (within). I have been out and about since lockdowns first began, out in Nature with my camera walking with no fear. I still am today yet I find it harder to do so seeing how massive the fear is and for me it is so upsetting to see so many hiding behind masks. I’ve been told and I will share with you, to not take most of what is happening personally for it is for those mainly who have not done their inner work and it is for them to grow into their true selves. Bless you for writing what you do. God bless you! xo
Amen to that my friend. God willing you shall see your grand children soon 🙏
Thank you so much 😊
Stay safe. Stay happy
Ashok, I appreciate your personal witness. Yes, we will all turn back to dust when our time comes. I pray I will see all of my grandchildren again and again once Covid takes its place in the history books.

I agree with you so many fear Corona but in reality they fear death. I spend the time working on my soul and inner world, my connection with God and how to send more love to those who live in despair. We just have to let go there has been so many improvements to the world since the coronavirus and we should be grateful.
Corona is an urgent warning to mankind , a call to change our life styles , to respect Mother Nature.
We all need to give it a serious thought and do our best to change things for the better.
Ashok, once you are on a spiritual path, you are no longer afraid of death. Life has no meaning without death. Our life journey is of our own choosing for spiritual growth, and still it’s very very difficult to live with the pain of losing your child. And we know there are no mistakes in God’s creation!
Once we are open to growth, we see God’s.compassion and blessings all around!
Profound words, Ashok ji!
So true Halbarbera. Thank you

Well said and profound take on what is happening right now in our World. I completely agree with you, Ashok. We all come in this world which is our temporary house, our bodies which too are temporary and yes why then are we living in fear and worries every single day of our lives when we have come to live and die when our karmas are over and again take rebirth. This is just a vehicle like a car that keeps on changing. Thank you so much for your inspiring words.
This post is just so beautiful Ashok. It was definitely written from the heart. I couldn’t agree more with you on so many things….I cant pick just one. The whole post is beautiful. May the souls of those departed rest in peace.

Wonderful Ashok… “Those who truly live are never afraid of death. And only those who lack faith are the ones who fear death more. Death remains the only certainty in this uncertain world, but why die everyday!” So so true!!
All beautiful reminders, also for the rest of us who may have lost a loved one in the past year. Condolences for your losses; and thank you, for sharing your love and light. 💛🙏🌷
Aww … I am sorry for your losses – I can feel you there. Those are hard.
I am not afraid of death… I faced it a few times myself. I no longer fear death… but I do love life. I would like life longer lol ✌️ I would like to not die yet lol… but I don’t fear it. I’m not done living yet.
But you are correct – enjoy the life you have while you have it. See the humor in life … smile, laugh and love
Stay safe and take care ✌️😘
