Corona is much more than a virus – it has made the mighty kneel and brought the world together like never before.
Our minds have still not been able to process the ups and downs we have experienced. We like much about the new way of life and yet are scared to let go of the past.
We are dying to go back to The Normal. And this scares me.
What a colossal tragedy it would be that humanity chose to go back to its greedy and avaricious ways. That it chose to continue to plunder and destroy Mother Earth and all other species. That it chose separation, hate and war over oneness in love, joy and peace.
Yes, I am so scared to go back to the NORMAL…

This made me smile. I wonder if the world will learn any lessons.
I’m scared that there is still greed amidst the pandemic.. in the areas of medicine, administration, relief packages, trade policies, and more that I may not even know or understand 😒
At the same time I’m hopeful that many more of us are drawing inward and doing a reality check on our existence during this time 🤗

At the very least, we will have a definitive answer on what methods are working during the pandemic. We are here as humans because we studied what happened in past outbreaks, and used that information to save lives. Can’t have an economy without healthy people. I hope we do learn. The future only moves forward.

Ashok, I miss getting my hair cut, my teeth cleaned, and my eyes examined. I miss going to the beach, going out to dinner, and visiting with friends and neighbors. I hate the human suffering and death all around us.
After the pandemic, we will be facing many problems…some old and some new. We have experienced many examples of brotherhood, compassion, selflessness, and cooperation during the pandemic. I hope we can carry that forward.
Some issues that scare me: human greed, wars, global warming, corrupt politicians who seem to be totally without empathy, destruction of the environment, economic inequality, hatred and violence against those whose race, religion, or ethnicity is different from our own, the degradation of our food supply, the proliferation of toxic chemicals…on these types of issues, we most certainly agree! It’s sad that human beings never seem to learn from their mistakes. Maybe this time it will be different!

Yes it is strange but true – what we consider as ‘normal’ is actually so ‘abnormal.’ It is like all of us are being forced to sit in the ‘naughty corner’ at home and reflect on what why how things have gone wrong and the means to rectify it.

I’m afraid we don’t have the luxury to change right now, we have to get the economy back to work, or the social cost will be huge. Hope comes from the awareness that it is possible to change our way of life if we really want to, as it has been over the past four months. The only thing is that this change has to be sustainable, for the time being we are paying for it on credit.
