A month or so back my son suggested that I should watch a Netflix series he had recently seen. He told me that it was the kind of stuff I used to enjoy. Maybe he was a little concerned that I was meditating too much during lockdown πΉ
I started to watch the series and it was rather good. But I stopped watching it when it had reached the climax. My grand daughter asked me one day why had I stopped watching the series, and I told her that it had started to interfere with my meditation! Her response was: “Dadu (grandpa) do 5 hours of streaming one day instead of 5 hours of meditation and you will forget your meditation πΉ“
I didn’t take her advice π Last week I wasn’t so well and she told me again, “Dadu do 5 hours of streaming and you will get well immediately!”
Children are so beautiful and it is such fun to be with them. I was reminded of another incidence of 6 years back when I had gone to US. I had visited a niece in Washington DC during that trip. One day we went out with her daughters. At one place there were some small water showers/ falls kind of thing and kids wanted to go and play there. I took this opportunity to sit at a little distance and meditate. After a while I felt someone touching me. I opened my eyes and found my niece’s younger daughter, 6 years old Sanajana, staring into my eyes; and she pulled my arms and said, “Come and have some fun. Don’t meditate all the time!”
How sweet, simple and loving children are! I did join them and had such fun π»
I can’t explain to my granddaughter that playing hide and seek with my Beloved, during meditation is so much fun too ππ
But I so appreciate the love and concern of children. Can’t thank God enough for His blessings ππ Yes, balance is so important – Meditation and Fun π

This period, when all are at home all the time has been God sent. I have been able to get so much time with Raayna and have been able to understand and appreciate her much more. Soon she would enter her teens and I don’t think she would have much time for her grandpa π΄

PS: would love to hear of : Any new learnings and experiences that you have had in this new world of ours
Thank you so much Adrian. Oh yes, we can learn so much from children π
I enjoyed your blog-I couldn’t agree more. For me my children have enhamced my life in more ways then I can express and I am always learning from them about the world-mainly how they interact with it and I compare how I did at their age. I pass my experience onto them with mixed reactions!
Thank you so much for your Help π Keep writing sir!
I suggest you go through the Home Study lessons of Paramahansa Yogananda:

These are amazing and shall clarify all your doubts and thoughts. On the yssofindia.org website you will also get – meditations for beginners.
It is strange Akshita that when I click your site – Infinite Mind it takes me to a foreign language blog? Do you have two blogs?
That is why I had asked – what is your language

So cute!
So true Diksha. Thank you so much π
And all the best for baking and catching up with family and friends ππΉ
Ashok, this is such a cute post. I completely agree with those kids. When kids are busy with their studies, we can meditate and when kids are around, watching them itself is a great relaxation. My routine in this new norm of life hasn’t changed much. Busy with usual work, blog and now reviving back my baking entrepreneurship. Video calls with relatives and friends have increased a lot!!

So glad to read about your experience with meditation and fun.
You are right uncle we all should have a balance of everything. Be it meditation or fun, work or life, emotion or any other feeling. Take care uncle πππΊ
Two live nearby where I live in Ohio, and the other lives in Montana.
Oh yes my friend.
Good to know you have three grandchildren in their teens π
Do they live nearby ?
Yes Ashok, our lives need balance. I know I spend much time in prayer and my devotions, and this is a good thing. I understand how older grandchildren change as I have three who are teens.
Thank you so much π
Oh, she’s so sweet! Thanks for sharing an interesting post! It’s worth reading.

New generations are always smarter and it is wise to listen to them π€£ at least donβt brush their views aside
Stag safe. Have fun π€
So simple and so sweet. It’s actually good to see how you adapt to the suggestions by new generation, something that most elders don’t agree with easily.. Keep enjoying Sir π

Thank you so much, Ashok! You too, stay safe.
I can well imagine your feelings on Minecraft π€£
Yes we are blessed to have children around with their love and purity.
All the best Florence. This too shall pass.
Stay safe. Stay loved
You’re blessed to have her put smiles on your face, and “guide you on the right path”π. For sure time with the little ones is fun time. Pure and innocent minds! My children have been “pressuring” me since lockdown to pick up playing Minecraft. That’s their favourite game and they think that I would love it if I did. But can’t just try it. I’m not interested. Period. Up till yesterday evening, even when I don’t sit at home anymore, my daughter implored me to give the game a try. π.

You’re much welcome!

So beautiful Ashok, thanks for sharing. I too take periodic breaks to just be with the kids, and it is utterly enlivening, if we are present-minded, as is meditation. Love the photo and the emojis too! ππΈπ»π

Ashok, what a delightful photo of you with your granddaughter! I enjoyed reading your story very much! For me, the most significant thing about this period of isolation is that I have added this blog to my website and interacted with so many intelligent and creative people. I have also done a lot more writing than usual, and have spent a lot of time walking in the sunshine. Stay safe and happy! Cheryl
That happy picture of you and your grandaughter just made my day!
How adorable! A beautiful post and a beautiful spirit writing this:) Blessings

Thank you so much Santhosh π
Askok I loved this fun loving post of yours. Found it so nice to be reading and yes our grand children add so much spice to our lives. Meditation and being with our beloved is the best enjoyment that we can have but when our grandchildren give us so much love that too is meditation with our beloved. My daughter too has a son who is not yet 2 years and almost everyday we video chat with him and at times he comes home. He is a pleasure to have around. Lovely post. Have a wonderful day. The picture of you and Raayna is so beautiful.
impressive………sir plz follow my blogs too…. currently I am writing a novel
Beautiful picture, Uncle of you and Raayna. Love her laughter β€οΈ
Lovely story with a beautiful thought !! π
Thank you so much Sheryl for these beautiful words. Appreciate it ππ
How sweet of your grandchildren to care and love you so much to offer such good advice. Children can see straight through to the simple truth and I don’t think they will stop needing their βDadu”.

Thank you so much Zoya. You teach is it?
So true Sujata. Very well put π
Beautifully expressed…. children teach us to live enthusiastically & be in present π
Yes indeed! The kids are really cute. My younger students always make me smile whenever I’m disappointed. Very beautiful postβ€οΈ
Agree with you – being with the younger generation is very interesting and a lot of fun. During meditation we are the audience watching ourselves as the actors in the Cosmic movie AND it is very similar to watching movies on screen.
It all feels like”A movie within a bigger Movie” π
So true Radhika. Thank you so much π
Stay happy. Stay loved
Thank you so much Dakshali. Stay safe. Have fun. Meditate more π
Great. Thank you so much π π€
Beautiful post Ashokji. Watching and being with happy, innocent and smiling children is no less than meditation. Do spend as much time as possible with them before they grow up and get busy in their world.ππ
Meditation and fun…this is something very interesting. This too brought a smile to my face.
