Thank you Thank you Thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Two amazing years of blogging gone by – as if in a jiffy ๐Ÿ˜‡

2700+ Followers; 80,000 views; 40,000 visitors ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Thank you so much my dear followers, family and friends. You know in the beginning every small stat was so meaningful and important! And then I completely stopped looking at stats. I got so busy writing and interacting with the amazing blogging community.

A few of my recent posts got more than 600 likes and 300 comments. This is so heart warming. What I like most about blogging is the personal touch and interaction. Content is important but for me it is more important to have that feeling of kinship! 40-50 bloggers interact and encourage regularly and I love that.

And a handful of bloggers have become more than friends – they are family now. And that is the biggest gift of WP to me and am so grateful ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Thank you so much once again my dear friends for all your love and support and understanding. It is this love and support which has helped me publish my first book – 4 Pillars of Abundant Life. And so many of you have already bought and acknowledged it. Deep gratitude ๐Ÿ™

Love is a Lubricant ๐Ÿ’•

Love is the lubricant

Of the machine

Of our life!

Let the stream of love flow

Let it flow full and

Let it flow free

It heals

It renews

It redeems

It purifies!

Think of love and

Speak of love;

Sing of love and

Dream of love!

What have we

If we have not

This gift of love

Both human and divine!

Love is the lubricant

Which softens

The aches and pains

Of our lives!

It is divine essence

Its inbreathing

IS LIFE

Let the stream of love flow…

No Separationโ€” No Social distancing โ€” Only Love ๐Ÿ’•

Today would have been our 45th wedding anniversary.

One year back I wrote a post on this day: Time Heals nothing ( Do read it to know a little more about my beautiful and talented wife). On one hand it looks like it was just yesterday and on the other it looks ages ago! So much has happened …

I have been wondering how would she have reacted to Corona. She was very creative and filled with love. She was very pragmatic too. With Godโ€™s grace our son has got the best of both of us – so one can say he is doing what she would have ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’• It is such a blessing to have loving children around and three generations to be living together ๐Ÿ™ Am so thankful to Gautam and Rashmi for what all they have done in the past 2-3 months.

Oh yes there is No Social distancing between Anita and me. There is no separation. We are as close today or rather closer than we ever were. The physical is such a tiny part of the Whole, of Universal Consciousness โ€” LOVE. She lives in my heart – and not only mine; she lives in all the hearts she touched ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

She is very much around me and in me ๐Ÿ˜Š Let me share a story:

We have converted our old apartment in Pune, India into a meditation center for Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (SRF) My eldest sister visited us two years back and said that the center was done very beautifully; and if Anita was around everyone would have thought it was her work ๐Ÿ˜Š Anita was very artistic and had good aesthetic sense. I think she must have worked through me or guided me from whatever dimension she is in now to get it done ๐Ÿ˜‚

I am sure she is happy and spreading her love and joy even now, as she did when she was on our plane.

There is no Separation, no Isolation, no Desolation โ€” when we have LOVE in our Hearts ๐Ÿ’• ๐Ÿ’–

United in Fear

Am so happy

To see us all

Standing United!

Families and Friends,

Communities and Nations,

Of the World

At large!

Yes, I am happy

At the same time sad;

That we stand

UNITED in FEAR

And shall soon scatter

And depart!

So sad but true

Just wait and watch;

For we have more Fear

And much less

Faith and Love

In our Hearts!

A day will come

Maybe in times

Distant and far;

When we shall

STAND UNITED

But never again

Scatter and Depart !

For then we

Shall be together,

Once again;

Not in Fear but LOVE,

For One and ALL!

Friends or Soul Connects ๐Ÿ’•

Life is an adventure in friendship. Every person we meet, let us make him a friend. There are no strangers; there are only friends-in- the making

Dada Vaswani

You may enjoy this post more if you first read my earlier post: Time heals nothing โ€ฆ. and HOPE and WAIT

Anita and I used to talk often about souls and life after death, incarnation etc. Both of us had read and loved Dr. Bryan Weissโ€™s – Many Lives Many Masters. One day, in 2010, a friend of mine presented me with Laws of The Spirit World by Khorshed Bhavnagri. It sounded so true and was very helpful. Both of us read it, though she used to get tired very quickly. By this time her health had become worse ๐Ÿ˜Œ In fact she was never a great reader of books ๐Ÿ˜Š As far as our love for books was concerned we were poles apart! If a started an interesting book I found it difficult to sleep at night! I will keep telling myself just one more chapter or just one more page!! Anita was just the opposite! By the time she would read a page at night she would fall asleep!! Many a night I had watched her sleeping peacefully by my side, when I was reading. She used to sleep like a child๐Ÿ˜

Both of us were very friendly and made friends easily! But before our marriage I made friends only with boys๐Ÿ˜‚ I was very shy talking to girls! But that changed after our marriage๐Ÿ˜Š

With Godโ€™s grace we have had many good friends and some as close as family or more! Anitaโ€™s date of birth and the day she died made me think so much about one such family.

When we got married in 1975 we were living in Ranchi, in the eastern part of India. In 1981 I changed my job and we moved to Delhi. We became very friendly with a family next door. They were Narangs and had a joint family. Three brothers, with their children, were living on one floor each, in a three story house! We were living in a rented house next door. We knew all of them well but became very close to one brother and his family. This brother (I used to call him uncle or daddy!) had two sons. Older one was studying to be a doctor and was living in a hostel. The younger one, Sanjeev, was studying in a college nearby. He became very close to both of us but he literally worshipped Anita! Most of the people in the locality, where we lived, were business people and not vey educated. And they had special love and respect for us. But as I have said Sanjeev had much more than respect for Anita. For him she was perfect – beautiful, talented, loving!

After his college Sanjeev joined his fatherโ€™s wholesale business and we moved to Southern part of New Delhi. That part of the city was more upscale and happening! Though that was quite far off our relationship and love didnโ€™t diminish with the distance. When his parents found a bride for him (it is still not uncommon in India for parents to choose a life partner for their children, at that time in 80s it was more so) he told them that Anita Bhabhi (sister in law; he treated me like his elder brother and Anita became sister in law) must see and approve the girl before he would say yes! And that was arranged and both of us loved Sakshi and they got married in 1986! Anita did all the shopping for Sakshi!

Sanjeev and Sakshi have two beautiful daughters, Hansa and Vrinda. They call me Mamu, maternal uncle, and I love them both loads ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜

Coming back to the point I wanted to make: Vrinda, the younger one, was born on Anitaโ€™s birthday โ€“ 25th of September and Anita died on Hansaโ€™s birthday โ€“ 17th of September!! It could, of course, be called a coincidence! And it could also be some past life connection, some soul connect! Who knows! For me there are no coincidences!!

I have been blogging now for some months. There are millions of bloggers! And out of the blue you connect with some of them at a much deeper level than the rest! Yesterday morning only I got in touch with a blogger from Philippines for the first time and there was instant connect from both sides. During the last few months I have made good friends with bloggers young and old; males and females; from all parts of the world – from Pakistan, US, Canada, UK, Turkey, Lebanon, Panama, Africa, Scandinavia and of course India …we have become so close and we have never met! Someone is struggling for a job, another is depressed, someone is recovering from a serious sickness and another is dealing with the health of a significant other or a parent; some are sharing their joy and success. I feel for them all. I understand their pain and I suggest, guide, help wherever I can. If nothing I pray for them. And I join them in their happy times and wish them well. One of them is already like family and I am looking forward to meeting her ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿค— And again, yesterday only I called one of them my soul mate๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿค—

And it is not the first time in my life that this has happened! How does this work? What are the mechanics of creation? What is life and what is death? What is family and who and what are our friends?

I have no answers! And You, who is reading this post, and me are connected too and I am grateful for this connection ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿค— And I shall be there for you whenever and wherever you need me.

I shall close with Guruji’s words, which I had shared earlier too:

Friendship is God’s Divine Law Of Attraction...

“”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””โ€”””””””‘”””””

Two stranger meet, and by an instantaneous choice of their hearts they wish to help each other. Have you ever analyzed how this happens? The spontaneous mutual desire to be friends comes directly from God’s divine law of attraction; cumulative mutual acts of friendship between two souls in past lives gradually create a karmic bond that irresistibly attracts them to each other in this life.

Friendship is a great universal force. When your desire for friendship is strong enough, though an unknown person who is spritually attuned to you be living at the South Pole, the megnetism of friendship will never the less draw you together. Only selfishness can destroy this magnetism within us. He who thinks of himself all the time wrecks friendship. Such persons cannot attract friends, because they are unable to expand and receive the good in life.

Eat Drink and be Merry ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜‚

I am from Punjab, North India. And our philosophy of life can be summed up in these 3 words : Eat, Drink and be Merry ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜‚

India is such a beautiful, big and a diverse country. I love my India, with all its challenges.

I love to travel – if you have been following my blog – I have already been to 4 continents in 4 months ๐Ÿ˜‡ 4 Months 4 Continents ๐Ÿ’• And I love people from all parts of the world. But to live – only India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

People from different parts of the country look different, eat different, speak different ๐Ÿ˜‡ In 1980s I used to work for a Swedish company and we had a Swede (Hans Eriksson) posted in India for a couple of years. We used to travel together a lot. And I used to tell him that Chennai (then Madras) is as foreign to me as to him๐Ÿ˜‚

After I had got my engineering degree in 1970, I left home and North india for my first job at Ranchi, a city in eastern part of India. And I was so surprised to find that people from other parts of the country lived so simply. Later when I traveled to South India– living was equally simple there. That is compared to North India.

I remember so vividly: My boss had invited us for a meal at his place after my marriage and I was so surprised how simple and spartan his home was. He was 3-4 rungs higher than me but my home was better furnished. And I had almost felt guilty.

I love life and I love people. And I was so intrigued with this vast difference in life style in one country.

We are a big family – 6 siblings and we have been eating, drinking and being merry for 67 years ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™ Three of my sisters are historians and one of them did her PhD from London. She is very bright ๐Ÿ˜Ž Once I had mentioned to her this big difference in life style in North and South India. She gave me an historical back ground to this and that was so amazing.

She told me that most invasions in India happened from North West. And people from Punjab were always first to be looted and their homes plundered. So over a period of time they realised the futility of saving and started to live for the day. Eat, Drink and be Merry.

And Punjabis are very large hearted people, especially Sikhs. And they are very hard working people. They are there all over the world and doing well, with love and laughterโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

I was born in Amritsar, Punjab — Foodies paradise ๐Ÿ˜‚ All my siblings are great cooks. I am the only one who doesn’t๐Ÿคฃ Our mom’s cooking was divine, filled with love. Though we live in different parts of the country, we do meet often. And when we are together- most of the time (not mine ๐Ÿ˜Š) goes in planning and preparing meals ๐Ÿฅ˜๐Ÿฅช๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

10 foods/restaurants which are a must visit in Amritsar๐Ÿ‘‡ For me langar (community meal at Golden Temple) is a must and my favourite restaurant is number 8, Kesar da Dhaba I love their Lachha Parantha with Dal Makhani and Alu Parantha with Lassi ( my father’s favourite too and I make it an exception to my vegan diet๐Ÿ˜Š)
