Why do I Write/Blog?

Last week Joyce nominated me for the vincent-ehindero-blogger-award. Thank you so much Joyce👏 One of the questions she had asked was: What gives you an inspiration to write or take pictures? What’s your muse?

It was this question which made me think and retrace my blogging journey of last two years.

When I had returned from my trip around the world in end January 2019, I wanted to write a book about my experiences, especially in Guatemala. My son told me that my book hadn’t happened for 15 years 😛 He suggested I start to blog first and then look at the book. Luckily I took his advice 😊 In the past 2+ years I have published 200+ posts and have also published my first book – 4 Pillars of Abundant Life!

I started with posts on my travel around the world. When I was not traveling I wrote about life, that is my understanding of life and it’s processes. The first year of blogging was amazing! I traveled and wrote nonstop. I visited 5 continents (All except Africa) and 4 new countries! I traveled a lot within the country too! And when I was in the midst of planning my next trip to the only continent I haven’t visited, Covid announced its arrival😅 Ashok proposes, God disposes😊🙏

Many of my friends and family thought lockdown would be tough for me as I was so fond of travel. Yes, I love people and new places! But I love myself equally or more 😊💖 So 2020 or my second year of blogging was all about travel within, thinking and writing about life, and my books! And it is continuing in 2021 too!

During this period I thought so often of quitting blogging. Musings of a Wanderer was growing pretty well but I wasn’t sure why I was continuing! I knew without me the world and WP would go on! My thoughts at those times were to focus on God/Meditation and my books! My first priority has been God for years and to experience God first hand takes effort! Blogging does take time and time is our most precious possession!

But then I would get one comment which would touch my heart. I would make one relationship which makes all the effort worth it. And I have been truly blessed: I have got one daughter and three grand daughters (Muslim, Hindu and Christian!!) and a bunch of nieces from the blog! And I have picked up some amazing friends from all over the world – black, white, brown, yellow, male, female, young and old!! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you 👏 All of you have a special place in my heart.

Last week I was pleasantly surprised when I got the notification from WP that I had crossed 100,000 views! My blog is all about love and joy and peace and nature. I was happy that our community and my blogging family does appreciate it! And my thought now is that even if I can touch one or two lives and bring more peace, love and joy in their lives, my effort would have been worth it. And I enjoy this effort of love ❤️ Though my initial intent and motive was to help others lead abundant lives, I have ended up learning so much from so many versatile and loving and kind bloggers. Am grateful and blessed👏

This dilemma of mine: To write or not to write, to share or not was not only limited to the blog; it was equally true for my WhatsApp messages! I am more regular on Whatsapp than WP!

I know I am a drop of the ocean. But together we make this amazing ocean – of love, joy, and peace; and universal brotherhood! I am grateful from the core of my heart for your love and friendship 💖🤗

  1. Many Congratulation on reaching 100K views!
I think all bloggers have times in their journey when they ask themselves “Why am I blogging , and should I carry on?”

As a chef, I am often juggling working as a chef, teaching online, my YouTube channel, and blogging and feel like the guy in the circus juggling lots of plates on sticks. I also currently have 8 unfinished posts, in various states of completion. All that said, I blog because I like it and a I enjoy the interaction and friendship of my fellow bloggers.

    Best Wishes
    Kevin

  2. I want to be like a freelance writer. Of course I would like to make money on it, but I’m not that worried about money. I’m not a paid member on this website yet, but I’m working toward it. Is there any advice you could give me fun things to write about that are popular? I know most of my posts only make sense to me. But I want to win over the crowd.

  3. I’m fresh off the starting blog, but excited to see your post about why you blog, specifically your remarks about Guatemala! I lived and worked there for a time and plan to blog about my experiences there in the future. Keep up the good work and congratulations!!

  4. You definitely write from your heart and that’s why you attract so many from the blogosphere. Happy to be here. Please visit Africa. You will love the experience too. Start from Ghana, we are the gateway to Africa 💪🇬🇭

  5. Heartiest Congratulations on your journey around the world, within yourself and on the success of your blog. Along the way you inspired several people, and touched many hearts.

Reading this blog and comments I understand that you started this blog to write a book and now that its done you have madeup your mind to quit blogging.

Although this is definitely your personal choice but I suggest you may take a break from blogging and come back you feel like. Perhaps you might feel like sharing something with us some day. It is very saddening to me to know that you are to leave.

Dont quit blogging. I’ll be missing your inspiring and wise words and the beautiful skies from your part of the world.

Thanks for sharing the photos with us especially the slowmo video where the sky is changing colours… what a sight! It is pure bliss to watch the beautiful golden sky, the lofty clouds and the birds freely floating in the endless sky.

  6. Wow. That’s is an amazing accomplishment. Very inspiring. I’m extremely new to the world of blogging and seeing posts like this is exactly what I needed to see right now.

  58. Congatulations! And you absolutely mustn’t stop writing. I have written innumerable times about all the wonderful people I have connected with through blogging. I think this is the only social platform where you find truly genuine people and all are bounded by one passion – the passion of writing. I have made so many friends, personally met several of them. One of them was even a guest in my house when he traveled to Bangalore.
And, I have to say that I so envy your travels. You’re just so lucky!

  59. Glad to meet you wandering within. To travel and explore the world is a great experience but to explore within is perhaps a greater challenge. One that many don’t take but enjoying your musings within.

  67. Wow! Firstly a very happy 100k views ……
It’s been just few weeks for me on wp and you were(are) a huge inspiration for me. Maybe, I just continued it because of your words. You were the first person whom I met on wp and by whom my efforts were acknowledged…….
So, it’s my humble request from you to continue blogging as long as you can. Obviously the world goes on without someone and this is the same with wp but it isn’t the same….

  68. Congratulations Ashok and long may you continue writing yourself ur blog posts and inspire and share friendship.
I enjoy being one of your blogging friends. 😊.

    Miriam

Where there is will there is a way.

  72. Many congratulations dear Baba jani 😍💖🤗🌺🥳

WordPress really won’t stop if you don’t blog, but when you become the *mirror* the *shoulder* the *heart* then you can’t think like that. Many countenance would miss the mirror in which they could see their beauty, shoulders would miss your gentle tap by which any hurdle could be braved, the power of your virtual hug is as real as your love 💖
You have been assigned a beautiful duty and you are doing amazingly well.
Keep spreading your love___the most needed treasure__ ❤
