My first Love 💕

If you have been following my blog you would know that I loved my wife the most. She was so lovable 💖💕 But she wasn’t my first love.

My first love was sky 🌌 💖

I remember one night, just after our marriage, we were strolling hand in hand, after dinner. It was a clear, beautiful night and I started to point out various constellations to Anita. And ever so sweetly she said, “ You are supposed to be seeing the stars and the moon in my eyes and not in the sky.” 😍🥰

If there was a time machine and I could go back in time, I would love to go back to the time when we were newly married. Or the first few years of our married life. God willing some day or in some other life time, or in some other dimension 💖🙏

Our 20th anniversary-1995 (I still have this shirt💖)

My love affair with the sky started when I was still a student. There were no computers and not even calculators at that time. And I used to calculate the distances between stars and the constellations and galaxies with my own hand in my note books! I used to get so awed with the humongous bigness of the universe. It was incomprehensible, the infinitude of creation, of God.

This was also the beginning of my love affair with spirituality! I used to wonder about the infinitude of creation and my nothingness. I am still awed by the infinitude of creation, it’s beauty and freshness. And I wonder why is bulk of humanity running after money and power? Are they blind or what!!

It is not only that I am insignificant or nothing. If the entire solar system of ours got sucked into a black hole, it wouldn’t even cause a ripple in the scheme of things. Our solar system is so small and insignificant. And I think, so is our Milky Way galaxy 😅

I love the play of clouds in the sky. I love the games clouds play with the moon and the sun. I love dawn. The beauty and the stillness. I love starry nights. I can spend hours and days looking at the sky.

Thank you so much for taking out your time to view, read and comment on my posts. It means a lot to me and that is what keeps me going – the love of the blogging family and friends 💖👏

  1. “People observe the colours of the day only at its beginnings and ends, but to me, it’s quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations, with each passing moment.”
    – The Book Thief

I always think of this quote when I look at the sky, and surprisingly, no two shades of the sky are the same! It is a wonder how we all get to see the same sky, but how every person chooses to see something different in it.
Thank you for this post. Those pictures are breathtakingly beautiful! ✨

  2. Yes, we live together. My wife had passed away ten years back. 6 years back i left Mumbai and moved to Pune to be together with my son and his family.

  5. Really, thankyou, it is true that my age doesn’t matter to me now as I know who I am, so I feel humbly that I have the Universe at my feet.🦋
    Happy Birthday to your son💙
In October, I too will be 45, the 40’s have been so far my best years, my most present and enlightening years. 🦋

  6. That is so sweet Marie – to find beautiful boring. You are soooo sweet. Much love and a big hug 🤗

44 is young. You are my son’s age – he would be 45 next month 😊

  7. The word beautiful seems boring….I was trying to think of another which would really portray what I meant.

Thankyou for the young by the way….at 44 nearly 45😜

You are a beautiful, compassionate, empathetic, person that is what your words tell me 💙

  8. Thank you so much dear friend. Which is the boring word 🤔

You love the shirt and not the one wearing it 😅

You are so sweet my young friend 😍

  9. Wow, this post is beautiful, such a boring word for such a heartfelt post. The sky in all of its glory, in each of its colours and each of its moods. I hadn’t really thought about the sky in such detail before, but you have just given me some food for thought.
I always have been fascinated with the stars and the moon.
Love the shirt by the way, I’m sure you are still rocking it😜

  10. Loved reading this heartfelt post, , love the love in your words for nature in its infinite abundance 🙏

used to wonder about the infinitude of creation and my nothingness. I am still awed by the infinitude of creation, it’s beauty and freshness. And I wonder why is bulk of humanity running after money and power? Are they blind or what!!
    Truly in resonance 👌

  12. Such a lovely post… The pictures are beautiful specially your old pic with your wife.I love the sky too .. it is so limitless and beautiful.. I often imagine the clouds taking myriad shapes:-)

  13. Ashok, I enjoyed your words as well as the photos. My elementary school years happened during the 1960s, and I was always intrigued with space travel.

  14. Thank you so much Garima 😊💖

Yes night sky too is beautiful. I think You would like to read my post – Sometimes …

  15. Very beautiful post sir and wonderful pictures of sky❣️… I love watching the sky too. It has a different nature over time. And I like to watch it at night. And there is no need to describe the beauty of the night.

  16. You have captured the different hues of sky so perfectly. I too am in love with it. A sight to sigh and hold onto forever.
The photograph of you two is wonderful. She looks pretty.

  17. “ashok, loving your wife
every day and night for life
is true love from finite-to-infinite.” _-Van Prince

  18. Hahaha..glad I came back to read your post again and noticed the typo.. you’re right, autocorrect can be a true nemesis 😅

Wish you a great day ahead!

  19. It is the first time I have experienced this notification on WP when I tried to open your blog – Forbidden 🤔

  20. I did wonder what it meant 😊 I thought maybe young people have a new expression 😅

Thank you so much Vishakha. These auto corrects can create havoc 😊

    Stay safe. Stay loved 🥰

  21. Not to calculate distance as such Tanu. Distances between stars and galaxies etc are normally given in light years. That is the distance light would travel in one earth year. Speed of light is about 300,000 kms per second and that means one light year is 300000*365*24*60*60
One light year is about 9.4 trillion kms 😇 and many stars and galaxies are millions of light years apart and there are billions of galaxies, each with billions of stars. It is beyond human comprehension 😇

  22. So so beautifully written..yes the Sky is so wondefful..to say the least! I LOVE the picture of you and your wife❤🙏🏽

  23. Oh my!!!😓😓

I’m really so sorry about that.

    I Hope she’s smiling wherever she is😊.

  24. Oh yes Roffy watching sunsets and sunrises is divine. All of nature is divine.

You are new to my blog and may like to know my beautiful wife. Shall share some older posts.

This September it would be ten years that she departed from this plane 💕💕

  25. I can relate to why you really love the sky.

Watching sunrise and sunsets is definitely one of the most beautiful views on Earth.

I hope you watch them with your wife?😊

  26. Awesome post Ashok Sir! Your wife is sooo beautiful and so is the sky! Even I have this fascination for the sky, stars and I like to watch the movement of aeroplanes

  27. Thank you so much Priyanka. I do hope your preparations are going well and that you are at peace.
    Love and blessings 💖🤗

  28. The sunrays piercing through the clouds during the sunrise… the shades of sky during the the sunset… dark sky lit with stars… everything is just too mesmerizing to not fall in love with 🙂 ❤

  29. .. I’ve always counted Stars and also marveled at hiw significant the moon is….just this one rounded shaped thing being able to lighten the most part of the earth at a time. Wow am still at the paramount of God’s creation like you are

Thank you so much for reading and commenting 👏🤗

  35. Lovely post. I was more of a scared 6yo when i got to know about black holes. I was worried how painful it would be to just sucked into it, will our homes fly first or us.😂

  36. Thank you so much Deb. He is the one controlling all the subtle strings so beautifully- like your trip to coffee plantations in Coorg 💖🤗

  37. The universe is so mysterious, so large and yet so coordinated, as if some subtle strings are coordinating all the motions and play around it. It’s mind boggling to just look up at a vast expanse of clear sky, what must it be to have a view of the whole universe!
Beautiful pictures Ashokji! To be able to see such beauty is to be part of it, love the pictures and the post. Have a great week ahead sir!

  47. Nature is intoxicating and the sky and clouds and the interplay with the Sun and the Moon tops the list. You will most certainly find Anita ma’am in another lifetime.

  48. Wonderful and such captivating pictures of the sky, Ashok. Really God has given us nature that is the best. He is our benevolent master who knows all his children. Great and lovely post.

  49. First of all you and your wife looking adorable in this picture .
Talking about sky , sky is my first love too , when I go on my terrace , i could not take my eyes on ther sight . Sky taught me to be free that I am very small creature of this planet, my existence is pre determined . Sky taught me to live , there is endless thing to make my life happy , there is some independence , wisdom, faith, from that’s where my spirituality comes.i totally feel your every words . Specially that”why is bulk of humanity running after money and power? Are they blind or what!!” . I think they just fools , they don’t how to live They may not know that we have come empty-handed and will go empty-handed.
